Auctions and Thrifting For Vintage Furniture & Items

And......SOLD!!!
How many of you go to auctions?
My heart pounds when i spy a great vintage item I want to bid on.....first i walk past it slowly as to not draw attention to it-like no one else is going to see it??  I know..silly me!!
Then i survey the crowd to see who is there....
The e-bayers--they like smaller easy to ship items.....
The younger hipsters---mid century modern furniture......
The great older farmers---depends......most collect different items...and LOVE a bargain....and I LOVE  to eavesdrop & listen to the stories they share with each other.....

This was my last auction purchase....I was thrilled to see her and those beautiful legs standing in the back of the room..... I was even more thrilled when I realized "Mike the Furniture Guy" was not in the crowd!

I also spied this beauty....

but unfortunately so did A LOT of others......it went for over $300.00...but it was BEAUTIFUL in person....one of a kind........

So I came home happy and added the dresser to my inventory......

I will be painting and making all my finds beautiful for my first SALE!
A small group of DIY-ers, a couple of antique collectors and a local artist and I are having an outdoor FRENCH MARKET type sale this summer--June 1st to be exact.....I will fill you in with the details as we figure everything out...soooo excited, nervous and anxious all in one...so now I need to pull this out and get my busy on!!!!!

  1. That horse oval picture is gorgeous. We used to go the auctions and have sold at auctions but not in a long time.

  3. I must tell you, my in laws have that horse picture, in perfect condition. It has an amazingly beautiful oak frame around it. Its approximately thirty inches across with the original glass in it!

    1. Leslie--how ironic that your in laws have that picture--seeing it in person helps you realize it's beauty...and with the original glass--how great! thanks for commenting!
