I have a new found respect for all of you who have booths, shops, or regular sales of your painted, repaired and repurposed items......
As most of you know I am having a sale June 2nd.....

So right now I have several things in process....

I have also been thrifting for small items to help stage the furniture pieces...

So if  I had to describe my life right now....
I would HAVE to say.........
In process!
Also I have just started a Facebook page to show the items that will be at the sale--
check it out---and yes--that is also in process!
enjoy your Monday...........

Annie Sloan Shelf Makeover....

With my furniture sale approaching I am on the hunt for different sizes and styles of  furniture pieces....
I picked this little shelf up at an auction....
She was a little rough...VERY ROUGH......
I did a bit of repair work
and decided to remove the back off the bottom shelf...too damaged to repair...
this left the bottom open for the perfect basket......

I sanded and decided because of the old red paint I wanted to prime this piece...
I had an idea in the back of my mind on how I wanted this piece to look....Like the one Shaunna from Perfectly Imperfect and Layla from The Lettered Cottage worked on in this post
http://theletteredcottage.net/annie-sloan-and-shaunna-west/  .
I LOVED their "after"......
and here is mine..

I used ASCP Duck Egg Blue and Old White and used a clear wax to bring out the colors....
Time to put a price tag on her!!

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint End Table Makeover

A great find.....day 2 of a garage sale....$1.00......that's right 4 quarters!!
It even surpassed
Gail's @ My Repurposed Life's
never spend more than $5.00 rule!

After cleaning her up a bit and sanding with a sanding block I noticed she was bit wobbly.....
Gorilla Glue to the rescue!
If you are looking for some inexpensive clamps...check out Harbor Freight..they have different sizes and are about 1/2 the cost of the one's I have seen at Lowes........
Next step.....Annie Sloan Chalk Paint....I used Old White....
I loved the way she turned out...

but I felt she need a bit of Pizazz...So I distressed with a light sandpaper and then decided to try a technique I had used on some chairs I repurposed....

I went to The Graphics Fairy ( http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com) and printed a transfer to try with my new Chartpak Transfer Pen.......
2 pointers.....
1.  You have to print the transfer with a printer that uses toner
2.  Tape the transfer on the piece that you are transferring to to help keep the paper in place....
o.k. 3 pointers---I burnished (rubbed with a bit of force) with a spoon.......

Here is a video I found for you on You Tube on the process..

The early bird.....at an estate sale.....

I took a vacation day from work last Friday to be FIRST in line at an estate sale..sale started at 9... numbers were given at 8...so i arrived at............6:45.....and I was numerno uno!!
The best part was everyone waited in their cars (taking note of who arrived after who..this is a VERY serious group)  so I did not have to stand outside the entire time....
Did it pay off?  Take a look.....................

And that is only about half of my goodies!! More to come....
